The MPIKC Board of Directors’ mission is to act as a prominent voice for the promotion and growth of the industry we love. As a leader, one critical component of that mission is to serve the Kansas City metropolitan community. To that end, MPIKC will support local charitable organizations by collecting a variety of goods at each educational program and networking event we hold.

Operation Breakthrough, one of the largest single-site early education and social service facilities in the state of Missouri has been designated as the 2016 – 2017 Charity for MPIKC.  Operation Breakthrough serves 400 children daily from the urban core.  Their vision is to ensure that all children have the opportunity to achieve their full potential.  They provide a safe, loving and educational environment for children in poverty and to empower their families through advocacy, emergency aid and education.

Throughout the year we would like to request your help in supporting Operation Breakthrough through donations and volunteer opportunities.  The organization is always in need of non-perishable food products (Hamburger Helper, Macaroni & Cheese, Soups, Snack Bars, etc) as well as personal hygiene products (toilet tissue, shampoo, bath soap, laundry soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, lotion, sponges, feminine hygiene items, etc).  Their needs remain the same throughout the year but often times one need is a little more focused on than another.  Please watch for event notices and newsletters to see if we are encouraging specific donation requests.  As you travel, bring back your hotel toiletries.  These are very welcomed donations by the organization.  We will have a collection date for those (date to be determined) so start your collections now.  Any donation will be gladly accepted at any time.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at or by phone at 913.488.4059.  Thank you for your help in supporting this great Kansas City organization!
